It was the iconography of feeding the poor and pilgrims that took centre stage in these paintings dealing with an institution that intended to help those in need. The paintings show different characters eating and drinking around a table. Bread and wine were the main food. In some of the preserved paintings there are inscriptions with the names of the benefactors who made charity to the poor possible, and the type of assistance established. The paintings, preserved in the Museu de Lleida: diocesà i comarcal and the Episcopal Palace, cover a period between the first half of the 14th century and the first half of the 16th century.
